    Easels

I'm after an easel to display some of my 12x12 lo's on. I've been to my local craft shop with no joy!

So, can anyone let me know where you got yours from please.

Try an Art shop if you have one near you. Alternatively Hobbycraft also do them but in the art dept.

Do you need it asap or can it wait till next week?

I picked up two lovely cast iron ones at a boot sale a couple of years ago for £3. I couldn't believe it when I saw this man ribbing his friend, telling him he would never sell that old tat. When I realised what they were talking about my heart skipped a beat and I just had to buy them....didn't I?

So it's definately worth keeping your eyes peeled!

The Works is definitely worth a look, if you have one nearby. In ours there is a downstairs which is full of bad stationery, notelets, masks and a bizarre mixture of art and craft stuff, including canvases and little easels! Also some bigger (but cheap) art boxes with built-in easels which could be good too.

I got mine in Spotlight in Plaza Singapura - but I guess that's not really very helpful to you. Sorry

I've had them from both Sarahs cards and Ikea. If your layouts will have lots of embellishing and you intend to display your pages for any length of time on the easel I wouldn't use these. The weight of the page will eventually cause the page to bend. I would try a larger artists easel, the Range havd a nice table top one toat looked to be supportive enough.
If its just while you take a photo or for a short time, then the ones mentioned are fine.
This is just my opinion and in no way is putting the mentioned ones down, as I say I have them as well.

I've used two very small ones (like under 6" tall) side by side, with success. I used a piece of matboard (which I get free as offcuts from my local framer) and set up the two then attached the matboard to the easels. That makes a good base for the layout. The little ledge the layout sits on is quite narrow on the small easels but you could easily add a wider strip of thin wood trip to it again, uniting the two small easels. All a bit of a bodge, but it looks fine and will do the trick. I thinkk I got the small easels in a two-pack for a couple of ££.
