lots of examples from last year here:

    http://www.flickr.com/groups/1316342@N21/

and they are just starting to roll out the digitisation of last year's books on the art house co op site too, although it's patchy for the moment

here's one of my favourites from last year in its entirety

    http://carolynsaxby-bsp.blogspot.com/

and you'll also find loads of flip throughs on Youtube if you go looking....

That would certainly inspire me to join up .
Some of the themes are very cryptic - once I seen what kind of things she's done with her theme - its though she's taken it out of context yet kept true to her orginal theme IYSWIM - I will have to ponder the themes on Lou's first link again and see if any conjure up something slightly out of the norm for me.

great links and photos Flo - thanks

I'll sign up for this Lou, it's come at a good time for me because for various reasons I want to drop out of cj's for a bit, yet I want something I that still gets me creating at least once a month and this seems ideal plus I don't have the expense of cj postage

I'm going to pick a theme off that list because I want something that makes me think out of the box or my comfort zone in the same way cj's do iykwim. I've picked six themes that jumped out at me, all of which I can see very vague outlines of where I could go with them, most in same direction. They are

    Time Traveler
    Encyclopedia of ..........
    A Path Through the Trees
    Life Underground
    Prehistoric
    Writing on the Wall.

so going to wickle it down from one of them. I've got a free ticket to Patchings this week so I'll be able to pick a sketch book up while I'm there

Remember Netty, you don't have to stick to those themes you might think of something else. I'm opting for TRAVEL WITH ME, I came up with lots of ideas for it.

OK - I'm definately in - got two themes in mind at the mo - I've been pondering them overnight one quite safe and the other taking me further out of my comfort zone - what kind of size book should I be looking at using or doesn't it matter?

Must get organised - note to self - sort CJ entries out first JB then play

the "official" sketchbook that they send out is very simple - kind of like a school exercise book, but with thicker pages.

but as you're playing along independently I guess you can use any type of book you like?

OK narrowed it down on themes

Safe in comfort zone "Uncharted Waters"

Totally dangerously out of comfort zone "Along the line"

Top bound book - probably homemade but will have a snout about for something suitable too
