    Doeflex

    Dear all,

    Hope you are all well.

I have just watched a programme on Create and Craft showing the "Cricut" (tm.) machine cutting Doeflex (tm.).
Doeflex seems to be a plastic type material that the cricut is able to cut in to and make masks/embossing folders.

The presenters do advise that you may have to cut the same design up to 4 times.

Has anyone tried this on the Robo? If so, what settings should we use?

    Any help gratefully received!

    Doflex

    Hi everyone,

I too saw that program on C&C and found it very interesting but, the presenter and guest did not say wheather the CR would cut it. I have been tempted to buy doflex for my templates but to hand cut rather than cut on the CR. I would be most interested to hear of anyone cutting on CR.

    Hope you are are well
    Regards

Personally I do not think it will cut. I say this because I buy Polypropelene sheets (which is the same thickness as Doeflex but far far cheaper) and use it for templates which I cut by hand/craft knife/Bigshot
Also I use it for my Cutting mats! So far the balde has never gone all the way through, but wether it will if you repeat cut the template 4 or 5 times...

If it doesn't cut all might not be lost at least you will get an acurate line you can cut with scissors.

Boy am I confused. I just bought the Silhouette and am busy getting all my templates and doflex templates into Studio so I can put them onto an SD card and get the Silhouette to cut them for me. This is working really well so far. My templates are going in the bin - giving me more space in my craft room for other things!

    doflex

    Hi to all
My trusty micrometre says this material is approx .33 mm thick. So going on previous discussions a yellow blade double cut should do it. I'm not sure about the pressure though. I haven't got that one sorted yet. Good luck.

Be pleased to hear if this works for embossing folders in particular.

I saw the programme too and wondered if the CR would cut it, will be interested to hear when you do it.
I'd love to make my own embossing folders.

Mine too, but was thinking more on the lines of single sided embossing templates and using the 'no more shims' embossing mat in my cuttlebug. Would be great to make my own embossed backing papers.

My wish list for birthday/xmas this year is a Grand Calibur so I could emboss larger than 7"x5". I find it very annoying that none of the embossing folders lend themselves to repeating the pattern, even the simple dot patterns.
