    Rubber stamp

I'm having a problem with stamping a clear image with one of my wooden stamps. It's always given a good image before but now part of it is not coming out. It looks to me as if there is a dent in the rubber. I may have put another stamp on top of it when storing it. Has anyone any ideas of how to re-store the stamp?

I've heard of people putting their stamps in the microwave for a few seconds and letting them 'set' ... but I've never tried it myself !

How about 'brayering' the image, and then using the rock 'n' roll technique ?

My thoughts too or remounting it onto something like ez foam etc it might help push it back again as it might be the foam underneath the stamp helping to keep the dent. I had a similiar problem and did same thing and used a rock a block with ez foam attatched to unmounted stamp and it worked for me. I think i may depend on how big the stamp is though??
    Hope this helps?

I would like to know the best way to prise the rubber stamps from their wooden blocks please? Now I have heard that I could put them into the microwave to unstick them ... not to set them though!

It's just storing the blessed things with the blocks!

I peeled mine or use knife (carefully) and cleaned the back with the sticky stuff remover after so it eventually became an 'unmounted' tyoe rubber stamp - it was a bit of a pain to do but knowing I could then use it again made it worth it

No idea but sorry that has happened. One way of storing them is only to store one deep. i use a 10 drawer metal filing cabinet - with the thin drawers - I have 2 of these - nearly full!

Just wack them in the micro wave for ten seconds ... this will melt the glue enough to just pull them carefully from the wooden blocks!
I then just stamp the image on a piece of card ... laminate it and hey presto ... you have a storage sheet too! You can then store the stamps vertically in a box or summink and you don't have to worry about squishing images in the future!
Oh and the blocks make great altered pieces :0) So now waste either

I store all my wood mounted stamps vertically in cardboard boxes. I keep thinking I should unmount them to save space - but quite honestly it seems like too much hassle. That was before I read this thread and saw the microwave tips !

I laminate the card after stamping them to store them too I have decided to make up a folder of the stamped images either by stamping them onto post its so I have 'masks' of the image ready or to photocopy the image I laminated, it depends on how lazy I am feeling Good tips on microwaved stamps that would have saved so much hassle!
