I'm glad I'm not the only one with sewing maching phobia.

I did eventually buy one a few years ago, but it sat in my hallway for a good 4 months before I had the nerve to open the box, and I've done precious little with it since. Just a few bits of very basic straight stitching.

it takes me about an hour to change the bobbin - so complicated!

and I still have never changed the needle because I can't work out how to do it, it must be horribly blunt by now

I do wish I had more confidence with it

Love your American page Linda! Brilliant. I might pinch that idea for when we go over in August.

I have to admit I just want a simple sewing machine, but there are so bloomin' many on the market. I might have another go at looking. I also don't want to spend a fortune on something.

I have a full sized sewing machine but I also have a small one. I got it ages ago and it was £19.99. I saw some in Dunelm yesterday at £14.99, the 30% off sale is on at present. They're ideal for scrapping - 9" long 4" wide and 7" high. It can sit on a craft desk without taking up too much space. They have them online too.

Have left you a comment Chell.

I've had a dreadful 24 hours with DS, and I need to journal. I'm cutting out some images out from "a little horror toy store" sheet. They seem to fit my feeling a about my kids right now. Can't wait to tuck the little monsters up in bed tonight. 50 mins and counting.

Vicki - for christmas I got the mini sewing machine from John Lewis. They come in some lovely colours and are only about 50. It has been fine for me as a beginner. It's smaller than a normal sewing machine too so doesn't take up too much space on the worktop.

..and my Gran used to live in Bingley. We use to take the dogs for a walk down to the seven sisters. Been a while, so I think that was what it was called - the lock system.

I've not booked on the canvas journal one yet. Not sure why I've been outting it off.

Kirsty - does it have different stitches on it? I have a mini one that only has one stitch and isn't big enough for doing any actual sewing on - as inmaking curtains. I don't just want one for stitching paper (shock, gasp, horror!) LOL
