That sounds great Rosie, can't wait to see it - assuming you'll be sharing it on your blog that is.

I'm still working out how to draw people whimsey style. I've been trying to do a male this morning. Niether of the kids are very well today so it's meant I need to be in the same room as them but they aren't asking for anything or making lots of noise. Drawing heaven! I do need some hotpress watercolour paper though. I've been working in my sketch book to play with colourings, and my watercolour paper is too grainy. Ah ewll, another reason to shop.

Oh - I ordered some neocolour II single at £1.10 each, seemed a good price. Is it? I've seen them at £1.20. I also have a nice new pot of gel medium....oooh... fabulous!

    Loved your book Rum.

I know I have been MIA on the thread for weeks. I have been making pages etc but mainly drawing. Just to let you know though Nanajoumo is back this year, its a free prompt led journal 'class'. It start the 1st and run's throughout November. Basically Dawn Sokol posts a promt/word/technique each day on her blog and the aim is to journal every day to build up a habit.

I will be playing but not everyday as I have 'released' my own challenge on my blog, to sketch daily so that comes first

Hope you are all having a good weekend

Thanks for the posting this link. I'm being dim though coz I can't figure out how to leave a comment to show I'm participating. Can anyone tell me how to do it.
I didn't think I'd be able to commit as I thought it was doing a page a day but it's not. There's a prompt a day but the challenge is just to do something in your journal everyday-so for me that might just be writing the prompt! Lol.
Anyone else going to play along?

Rosie, I've just included a link to your blog on my latest blog post. Hope that's okay, but I think your blog is just so good and will be helpful to lots of people, as it was to me. I really appreciate the way you show the page 'in progress' as sometimes I think new journalers look at a finished page and think they would never figure out how you got from beginning to end. Thanks.

Why thank you Jane!! That's very sweet (and I can't help feeling undeserved) since I count myself as a pretty new art journaller! I'm encouraged to think that taking stage photos of my pages is helping people, and will continue (if I can remember, I don't always)!! Tomorrow I'm off to a convention for a few days so won't be journalling while I'm gone, but expect I'll be bursting to when I get back ...

Well, I've been inspired by your blog, Rosie, so have done something similar on mine today. I've got a few photos and explanations of supplies, rationale, etc. to show how it progressed. Hope you'll all drop by my blog for a look.

    Thanks.

Just looked at your blog Claire, and your pages are brilliant. Loved the background on the tree page, and the dreamy newspaper clouds looked fab too.

ooh, I think we are all familiar with that feeling Claire! I can't get over how addictive it is.

Do you think you can be good between now and then...? LOL. It's a few weeks yet.

I've got to start packing my AJ travel kit up now or I'll be in a right state. One for the plane and one for my suitcase so I can take my scissors with me. Two weeks today I'll be in New York. Getting really excited now. I also have a list of art supply shops in Manhatten! Oh DH is gonna have a fab time between them and the art galleries...tee hee.

You can try, but I'm taking my tiny moleskine which is about 3.5x5.5 inches... not much room in my pencil case either. I will be buying lots of postcards and opicking up leaflets to chop up and add into my journal so I might have to leave you behind as well. Would that be ok?

This is my second trip so I doubt we'll go again. Last time I stood on an upturned plug three days before we left and I was in a right mess. I'm watching what I do this time!
