Words for best friend's birthday who's husband is terminally ill

Evening everyone,

I don't know if I'm posting this message in the right place but I'm looking for help with a birthday card for my best friend. It's her birthday next week and her hubby has terminal cancer. I'm going to make her a card but I'm really struggling with wording as this will be the last birthday he is with her

I'm also wondering what to do about a present - her birthday is the last thing on her mind at the moment.

How about "thinking of you on your birthday"?

birthday wishes, then you avoid the happy bit.

as for a present- how about a dvd they can watch together, or foot potions or massage oil so she can give him a foot/shoulder rub or pamper herself.
nothing you give her will make her "happy" but it can be thoughtful and maybe give her nice memories

If she is suffering like this then I should think that she doens't need reminding of it and I'd just make her a lovely card with a normal message in it

I was thinking the same thing, I would want to forget for one day that life was not normal.

I think Chocolate, flowers and a bottle of something she likes. So she has a treat she can use.

Sorry I haven't been back to thank you all sooner. I went with 'sending our love and best wishes on your birthday' and bought her a little kit for doing her nails and a cupcake stand which I remembered she was on the look out for. I'm going to take it round there tomorrow full of cakes!
