Ooh I didn't realised we had rolled again, read right though the last few posts meaning to quote and reply I appear to have started something here..... I am now going to be extremely mean and mention that when my DH saw the cogs and gears stamps I bought from AP, he casually said he had some software that could randomly generate them for cutting...... I was very restrained and just said "oh that sounds nice" - don't want to over load the poor man as to cost, well he got a small one to start with cos he wasn't sure he would like it, it only has an A4 cutting bed.... it cost 1400. You don't want to know what the bigger ones are! It is really an industrial piece of kit - our son's bedroom has been turned into The Laser Room. I should add that said son has left home

I googled laser cutters and saw that the small ones were in the region of a thousand pounds, so I ungoogled and have been trying very hard to forget since then.

    ONe can but dream.

Interested to know what your swap is, Sarah

    Now. Green-Eyed-Monster from Sutton Here.

And, Wendy, HOW mean are you? COGS?? (You made me SHOUT again, you'll notice...) AND I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T LEAP AT THE CHANCE AND THREATEN TO WITHOLD CONJUGALS UNTIL HE PUTs HIS MONEY/COGS WHERE HIS MOUTH IS??!

    Okay *deep breath* calm now.

On a saner note - I have to ask -
    a) Why did hubby buy said Serious Piece of Kit and what does he do with it?
    b) Did you make son leave home to use his room to install it?
    c) As my son is about to leave home on Tuesday, can I borrow hubby and his equipment and set him up here instead?

(Hmmm, c) sounds misleading - I mean your hubby and his Laser Cutter (other equipment optional) - unless you are witholding something else....?)

    a) He saw a video on youtube of someone cutting parts for a bridge and then assembling it .....and spent months agonising over the decision to buy. He has made his bridge and some model bits, and now scours the net for interesting things to cut!!!!
    b) No, he left of his own accord
    c) I don't think we would ever get it down the stairs again, hope we never move house.....

Now why can't my husband buy interesting and usefull things that I can use for crafting as well? Instead he buys aircraft radios and aircraft radar trackers (it's his hobby and job) Vut the worst thing is that he has the spare room for his office and there is not enough room for me to craft in there!!!!

NOW SCOURS THE NET FOR INTERESTING THINGS TO CUT?
I'm with Gilly here (and, you'll note, I'm shouting again!!!) I have a Cricut, Design Studio and SCAL with OOOODLES of things to cut - if hubby wants some ideas, I repeat the offer of son's room (but not until after Tuesday - son has to move out first!)

Good gravy, Wendy, you are One Lucky Crafter. My hubby's hobby is classic cars and gardening. The one time he came into my craft room and said "surely you can't need anymore crafting stuff" I did not say a word. I took him gently by the hand downstairs into the garage. And pointed. Then into the garden. And pointed - at TWO sheds. Funny thing is, he hasn't said any more since!

Oh, Honeypip - we have 2 sheds (both collapsing) plus a third waiting to be put up. DH hobbies, his car, and N guage trains (hence him drooling over the thought of a laser cutter).
