What card for stamping on please?

Hi I have had a quick look through the forums and cannot find an answer for my question.

I have some stamps and have purchased some promarkers. I want to use these to make cards.

I have never been sure which card is best for stamping but also is there a better one to use with promarkers? I would appreciate your help with this as I do not want the images or colouring to "bleed"

    Many thanks x

Elaine - SU Whisper White is supposed to be perfect, if you know a demonstrator maybe see about getting some.
The other card which is used alot is the Mondi IQ green range from Rymans.

I am still in the process of trying to find some decent card - it's a nightmare.

See you gave into promarkers then .

    Hi

I bought the copic marker pad, but found it to thin and not white enough for the card stock I usually use.
the card stock I use is 300g smooth high white. and printer paper 200g smooth white.
found that as long as the card stock is smooth I don't have problems with bleeding. and it works well with copics, promarkers and water colours.

    hope this helps

The ink you use is equally as important as the card. You need Momento ink which is a dye based ink rather than being an alchohol based one such as StazOn which will bleed using Promarkers.

The Mondi IQ green range is from Staples but Rymans do their own version which is their own smooth white, both work well with momento ink & Promarkers.

Brilliance is a pigment ink so you would need to emboss it or wait ages for it to dry. Never tried my Promarkers with my Brilliance so I'm not sure if it would bleed after it dried, it wouldn't if you embossed with it though, I always use Memento.

Make sure you get the card of Mondi IQ as they also do paper. The card is 160gms.

Took me a long time to find a card I like but Rymans coated card is the one I like the best. I have tried the Mondi IQ but really didn't like it for markers.

Elaine, it was through a friend of a friend as I don't have a demonstrator local to me, I don't think. Otherwise I am sure there are a couple of SU people on UKS who are sponsors.

Well i have got my card - rymans so thats ready to go I wasn't able to get any memento ink tho - gutted I have now ordered some online but in the meantime used brilliance and heated in with the heat gun and its just keeping flat under some weight at the moment so i will have a play with those tomorrow probably.
Its so annoying not having that inkpad i am itching to make a card! lol

HI, I like to stamp on Staples Text and Graphic paper its 160gsm and bright white and is great for stamping on. Does not bleed, I use momento ink when I stamp and colour with promarkers.
