    Share your January pages here!

In my effort to 'keep it real' and actually scrap my entire January, I made my January pages today! So we are off and running!

You can download this PDF for everything in an easy format, but here's the basic premise for each month:
one page with your envelope and assorted other bits of news forms a collection page to start (i included some news headlines to give this a bit of a timeline...you might like or dislike that idea!)
one divided page protector, front and back, with a mix of photos and bits and pieces from real life -- some of the stuff you had in your envelope.
one page with a specific focus to that month (mine was the oddity of this out of character weather we've had)

my pages look like this at the moment:

My guidelines for creating the pages...

*The only whole sheets I'm using are the two 12x12 sheets each month. Everything else is from scraps and I'm not opening new sticker sheets or anything like that. It's all going to be things that need to be used up. You don't have to follow that guideline, but I thought I would share it in case it is useful for you!

*There are only two purchases I've made for the project: the divided page protectors and an album. I won't buy anything else especially for this project.

*It's okay if things don't really match at this point. Over the course of the year, the mixed up look will be fine, because there will be certain elements that repeat, like the page protectors.

*Although I'll use different letters each month, I'm always going to add the letters to spell out the month right on top of the page protectors. (If you want to do this, make sure you've got some extra sticky adhesive to hand to ensure they stay in place!)

*Some of my photos will be in the envelope each month, at least for now. I think I may find a place for them later on perhaps...or I may just leave some in the envelope. I want that page to look like you're welcome to go through the stuff. Sometimes I think I will use a sturdier envelope and sew it to the outside of the page protector, but I wanted to start with something quite simple.

Now...it's your turn! Share your January pages on this thread! You can link us to them in your gallery or a blog post or you can attach them right here in the discussion. Whatever you prefer. (It is probably easiest for us to leave you comments if you link to your gallery or blog.)

And make sure you have a new envelope for February!

Absolutly LOVE the pages Shimelle - what inspirational pieces. Have been really looking forward to starting my first class and item on UKS and this is certainly living up to expectations already!!! Also, love how you can use up all the scraps and odd pieces that everyone has that are impossible to throw away. This is going to be so much fun and a real challenge as it is totally out of my normal comfort zone. Thanks for the challange and look forward to getting to see others work and getting to know them.

    Thanks ladies!

I am still not completely convinced on the last page, which has given me a bit of a mini-crisis tonight, so if you see it change in the morning then you'll know that a bit of sleep gave me a better idea for the design! But it may stay just like it is...since the aim of this project really isn't to overthink and rework. I suppose it wouldn't be amazing for me to start my first month with exactly that? Well -- give me a few hours and we'll see what I decide!

By the way, the page protectors are now available here if you don't have them on hand already.

I'd already printed off a dozen photographs, but I'm going back now and re-thinking them; loving these LO's. Don't know about using what I have already because I have a new album, page protectors and more stuff on order :-D but since I took this challenge on to try to get scrapping again....? Really looking forward to doing this. Thanks Shimelle. x

Love the LOs Shimelle ... I can see why it's taken all day!! Think I need to invest in "posher" envelopes though (or may have a go at making them).

Very happy indeed to use up some of my stash mountain. Have bought an album & page protectors ... although I'm sure I won't be able to resist buying a little something extra on the way.

    Have fun ladies

Thanks Shimelle, this looks fantastic. I forgot the bit about using up existing stash and not needing to buy anything too expensive and bought a new leather album and about a million page protectors to put my project in, will be worth it when it's all done. Gonna go think about my layouts now.

    Thanks again.
