Is it worth making this into a social group so it doesn't get lost in the general threads? Just an idea!

well, have completed january and nearly february ... the only thing now is knowing how to add my images ... I can see there is an icon here to add my image to this post but is there a help section for adding it to the specific gallery?

Er, let's not, please. I have a phobia against SGs! I don't think we'll get lost but it seems that there are a few similar challenges. This group is just an informal one, so no pressure. I'm planning to do my book (i.e. put it together, paste in the 12 monthly calendars, complete the January entry) tomorrow. I'll post it when I do.

I think there IS a help somewhere, but basically you just go to the gallery (click on 'Gallery' at the top of the page), then click 'Upload Photos', A new window opens. In that window, where it says 'Choose a gallery to upload ....' then click the drop-down list that says 'Member Galleries' and scroll down to Challenges, then select 'Mini-Books 2010'.

Once the Mini-Books 2010 shows, go to the next field and place your cursor where it says 'Select the photos...' then click Browse. This will show you your computer files so that you can select the photo(s) you want to upload. The rest of the fields aren't required, but you could put in the 'keywords' field something like 'Mini-books 2010, January' so that anyone can search on the keywords to find it. Then click the 'Upload/Submit' button and you're done.

If you need more complete instructions, let me know. I can write this all out in a very simple style if necessary. Remember, before you start to upload, that your pictures cannot be larger than 250 kb (file size).

    Hope that helps.

I have made my mini book and it is all decorated with monthly calanders inserted. I will get my January entry done next week once I have my photos back.

I have made my book and decorated the cover - really pleased with it so far. It's plain and made out of chipboard, a roll of brown paper and some brown envelopes. It's my frugal version of Shimelles Document 2010 as I couldn't afford all the stuff you need for hers.

There are some pics of my undecorated book on my blog.

Well, you are all way ahead of me! I have the paper, the design, and all the supplies, and intended to tackle it today but ended up cleaning house and doing three loads of laundry instead! I really am going to work on it in the next few days.... you're inspiring me and making me feel guilty, too....

Love the ones you've started. Just one question! What size are they please? I'm still hovering between 6x6 because it's economical and 8x8 because I like the size!

Well done, Laura and Jo!! Can't wait to see what you do with the 'Inners' as we move along.

Berni, 6x6" is a good, manageable size. It's large enough to allow some creativity and yet small enough that you won't find yourself struggling to fill it on a 'slow' month.

Everyone please remember, you don't need to limit yourself to photos. Use ephemera (ticket stubs, maps, post cards, etc.), poems that relate to the month, things you clip from magazines or even something you download and print from the Internet. Maybe you just feel like writing a journal entry. Anything goes!! You can also make pockets on the pages or between the pages if you have too much to put on the page. Don't know about you, but I love busy pages....the more clunky the better.

Okay.... at last I got off my backside and got busy. Here's the cover. I have the details on my blog, plus a photo of the inside, if anyone is interested. Still have some real catch-up to do but I'll finish January by the end of the week. At least that's the plan!
