    A MiniBook 'Challenge' - A Yearbook

I see this forum is started but no posts, so I'm not sure what's happening here. I would like to propose a Year Book. This is a mini-book where one entry per month is done. For example, January might show snow pictures (imagine that!), February some valentine, love pictures, etc. Or maybe you went on a holiday in one month, or celebrated a special anniversary, etc. I have one example on my blog HERE, but would like to leave the design up to each person.

Remember, this is NOT a circle journal. You won't be sending it anywhere so there's no danger of it getting 'lost'. You'll simply post your monthly photo to the gallery. I'll try to get a special area if there's enough interest.

    Anyone want to join in?

this sounds really good jane ... and will help use up that stash mountain. Will have a think about the book and try to get it and january's layout completed as one little project, and then I will be on track to do an entry each month ... thanks for the inspiration ... and here's to a busy, happy year. g x

I'd like to join in please. I've got the Cre8tive Online kit that was on the front page a couple of weeks ago, so that would make a great cover for the book

What a fab idea. I would love to join in with this please. I like the idea of using my favourite photo from each month. I will get my mini book made this week and get started.

Great stuff! I'll start mine tomorrow, too. Thanks for the enthusiasm, everyone. I'll see if we can get a sub-section in the gallery for it. If not, we'll just have to post to the regular gallery and use 'Mini2010' as a TAG. That would sort of work, wouldn't it?

We won't make this too formal or rules-oriented. It's just for fun.... so if you find yourself 'off' for one month, you can catch up when you feel like it.

Update: I just checked and there is already a section set up! I hope I'm not gate crashing someone else's challenge! Please, please, whoever you are, forgive me if so. Otherwise, let's all get going!

I'm very new to joining in with challenges etc on here but this sounds like something I could do fairly easily and with little pressure so I'll have a go too.

This is a fab idea. I was actually thinking of doing something like that with the little calendar stuff that came in Sarah's kit.

Right now is a good time to find calendars. In a few months it will be more difficult, so once you decide what size pages/book you want, look for a suitable calendar. Remember there are also lots of printable ones online, too.

    Can I just suggest:

    • Make your pages large enough (6x6" or larger) to hold a calendar page PLUS photos PLUS some journaling.
    • Take a look through some magazines, online galleries, etc. for ideas. Some people find it helpful to make a sketch and use it for every month to make the mini-album more uniform.
    • Consider using a 'line' of paper that coordinates.... as when you buy a collection pack or paper pad. That way your pages will have some kind of unification.
    • Once you finish your page each month, post it in the gallery under Challenges > Mini-Books 2010, then post in this thread so that we can all see it.
    • When you do look at what someone has posted, try to leave a kind comment. It always is nice to make someone's day a bit brighter!

That's all. No pressure. Do your own thing. Let's have fun!
