Which DC machine for cutting fabric?

My nephew's girlfriend is fantastic at making all things fabric. She mentioned over Christmas how useful it would be to have a machine to cut out fabric shapes.

What would be the best machine for this purpose?

It's not so much the machine, as the dies

The Sizzlets/Thin Dies won't, but the 'standard' Sizzix dies (originals / Thick Cuts / Bigz) will

QK won't (though I have managed one using very thing fabric with a piece of paper behind it - most weren't cutting cleanly though)

Cuttlebug probably will, but Cuttlekidz again probably won't

Fabric always seems to cut better when affixed to something though..... a lightweight iron interfacing has worked for me with the Sizzix ones

I can cut fabric in a quickutz including felt, however if it is ironed onto bondaweb or freezer paper it is easier to do.

providing you're using dies that are designed to cut these......

That's the machine I use, but (as I said earlier) it's the dies rather than the machine that makes the difference

Here's a few more tips Sue.

You really do need a new blade and keep that one blade just for fabric cutting.

It works best with cotton fabric, I wouldn't try felt on it TBH.
