Welcome to UKS, you'll get loads of help from the fab people here
Personally I think the Cuttlebug embossing folders are brilliant, the images are so crisp and deep, as for dies, it's really a matter of what you like to use on your pages, cards etc.
    Have fun

I have just bought a bigshot too. Can you use the cuttlebug dies and folders in the bigshot?

The ones I use the most are the cuttlebug spots and swirls

Maybe invest in a few sets of spellbinders nestabilities too

I am a big Nestabilities user and would really recommend a plain shape set and the matching scallop set to get started with, such as circles large - so versatile and useful.

Don't have a big shot but also have some bigshot dies I use in cardmaking such as frame, ornate #2.

Oh and the cut and emboss butterflies from cuttlebug are good too.

I have a few cuttlebug emboss folders, but mainly use the snowflake and dot one.
