This is my attempt. I have been really inspired by all the houses everyone else created. Mine is quite plain but I'm not really one for lots of embellishments! I never get it quite right

Moxie - I painted inside where the drawers go, as well as inside the actual drawers. In fact I painted everything!!!

the 1st one is for my almost 10 yr old dd, she did this mostly on her own with me just doing the roof painting and covering the drawers with her choice of paper.

the second one is for my 4 yr old ds, he picked the papers and the gingerbread men decorations but was happy to let me do the sticking etc, he also stuck the numbers down himself.

    thanks!
Those houses are just fab Sarah!! I them both! xx

I am so very pleased you have all put your gorgeous creations on this thread instead of hiding them away in an SG where they would not have been seen.

I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at all your work.

Tried to get one of the houses myself but even though we have 2 quite large Tescos here in Worcester, neither of them had them.

I think mine must be one of the fastest decorated house since this thread started - it arrived in the post this afternoon (all the way from Soozee in Wigan - thank you so much!) and altho its not fully decorated, it will suffice for this season

I used some freebie papers from The Scrapbook Magazine, having first painted the drawer fronts and the star with a pale green chalky emulsion - its amazing what turns up in the 'tatt' cupboard eh... a pale green matt paint that goes perfectly with the red base that the house is already painted in.

After Christmas when I'm still in the Christmas mood I'll re-decorate it lol... need to work on the roof and the chimney

That's lovely Susie and I'm envious of your super quick work. How did you get the pp's cut so neatly around the drawer holes? I found it really difficult on mine.

I put one of the boxes onto the square of PP (cut to 1 3/8") and traced around the fingerhole, then carefully cut it out. Made one and used it as a template for the others, which is why they all look a little wobbly! Doesn't matter tho, once the edges were inked with Pine Needles Distress Ink and then stuck to the boxes it doesn't really show that its wobbly, just adds to the charm
