    Hi Winterbaby

Minnie will be hosting the swap so everyone sends all 11 ATCs to her. We will keep 3 ATC's back in NZ and post the rest to Minnie. It is important that everyone sends a stamped self-addressed envelope with the cards so it doesn't cost Minnie anything to post them back to you.

I've got my plan sorted for what I'm going to be doing and as I'm going to a scrap camp this weekend, I will be doing my best to start them then.

Sounds like we are on ! 11 cards eh? Thats a BIG swap - but I like a challenge - not that there is much to say about Kidderminster, apart from the fact that the last person out at night has to turn the lights off...

I love it. I take it Kidderminster is only a small place. What is the population? Is it a country town?

New Zealand's population is around 4 million people with Auckland hosting approximately 1.4 million. We have a lot of little country towns as you go further down the Islands - some of them can have around 2-3000 people living in them if you're lucky.

I agree with you, 11 is a big swap, however, I'm really excited about it too. I can't wait to see what everyone else has done. I've definitely got some ideas up my sleeve and am looking forward to 'attacking' these ideas over the weekend Well, that's the plan anyway

Hi, Ive printed the backs of my ATCs now pondering about what to put on the fronts. Think Bury St Edmunds still using candles.

It all sounds very exciting to me. It's going to be great getting an idea of what your home-town represents to you. When I get a chance, I'm going to google where you live, as I'd like to see where in the UK you all are. Are the places you live in part of a larger city?

Yep Bury st Edmunds is a small farming town, in suffolk. Its about an hour and a half from London and half hour from the beach. I'm right on the edge of Bury in a very small village called Fornham st Martin. Think theres more potatoes here than people.

    Fun!

This is so much fun learning about your towns! The names are so entertaining too...Bury St Edmonds....that conjures up all sorts of images in my head LOL! I like it how many English towns have several words in their title.

I have the plan of what I'm doing....my cards will feature a part of the city that is so helpful to me when I'm out driving. Given that I frequently get lost, and I really need one of those GPS thingees! In the meantime, while I don't have a GPS, I use this particular landmark to help me know whether I'm heading in the right direction or not. (Sad!)

Wow - your little town sounds absolutely awesome. My son, Jeremy, is a volcanologist who has a huge passion with volcanoes, paleontology and opportunities of historical exploration. He would be in his element if lived where you do.

I agree with lillikate, I love hearing about your home towns. New Zealand isn't that old compared with other countries in the world. Thank you for sharing this with us.

My towns not too exciting I'm afraid. Stewarton is 20mins from Glasgow and 25mins from Ayr (Rabbie Burns). Only thing I can remember it is famous for is David Dale the factory reformer lived here and the guy who invented the bee hive. Oh and Gray O'Brien from Corrie came from here but I knew him as Gerard before he was famous lol

Looking forward to seeing some of the NZ towns next year. Booked my tickets on Wednesday so Lillikate your ATC may be in my bag if it includes a map.

more potatoes than people Must remember that one Bev

Have put a request in to Theresa for an actual swap thread so when I get word I will post and tell you all.

    Enjoy your weekend

You guys are not going to believe this!!!!!!

The person who was running the scrapbook shop at the camp this weekend was born in Bury st Edmund and that his mum still live there (or close by). He printed some photos out of the post office and an old cathedral (or similar). He also printed out some of the shops in the main street. From what I could tell, your little town is absolutely gorgeous. It's so Victorian looking. I just love it. I honestly couldn't believe it when Michael told me he was born there. I think I looked like a stunned mullet as my mouth fell open and I just couldn't speak except to say - are you sure you were born there?

What a small small world, eh?
