    Nz swap

    Hi Everyone
Is anyone interested in doing a swap with me. I live in Auckland, New Zealand, and am really keen to initiate an ATC swap. I'm thinking it could be based on a common theme i.e. each country's icon, Kiwi/UK quotes and/or sayings etc. I think it would be fun getting something relating to your country and you receiving something about mine.

Please can you let me know what you think and if you are interested in doing this. Thanks guys. Hope you have an awesome day

    I'm so excited about a swap :)

    Hi Ally
That would be so awesome. I am so keen but a little unsure on the best way to do this. If it's easier for you, you can contact me directly on my own e-mail address and we can discuss it further. It's up to you

    ann@atwc.org.nz

is my work address which I can get onto anytime.

I'm really looking forward to doing a swap with you. I think the more the merrier. Just let me know your thoughts and ideas and some themes you are interested in and I'll also ask another of my friends who might be interested as well.

Looking forward to talking to you again soon Ally. Hope you have an awesome weekend.

    Regards Ann

I quite like the sound of this, I've only made one ATC card so far so am a complete beginner, will keep an eye on this thread.

Kiwigirl, I used to live in NZ in the 80's, we lived all over - Pukehina, Tauranga and Waiuku near Auckland!!

This is sooooo exciting. I can't wait.

I'm thinking that maybe the best way to go about this is if one of you lovely ladies would like to be the host, we can send our ATC's to you (including myself) with a stamped addressed envelope included. The host then makes up the sets with everyone's creation and then sends then back accordingly. I think if I was to host it here in NZ, it would cost everyone a fortune in postage, whereas, I'm happy to pay for the postage to UK.

I was also thinking that the first theme could be something our country is famous for i.e. NZ is famous for the Kiwi bird - but it could be anything. Other thoughts I had were: quotes, songs, colours, animals to name just a few.

Please let me know your thoughts.

    Hi Alison-Lee,

It's great that you used to leave here in New Zealand. I've been to Tauranga a number of times and spent a lot of time around Mt Maunganui. You wouldn't recognise Waiuku now. It has definitely become quite a popular place to live, as the prices of houses in the city have risen substantially and they are still reasonably priced there. By skyrocketed, I mean you now pay close to $600,000 for a nice 3 brm home. It is a really nice property though, but still, it's a lot of money to pay. The cheapest house in Auckland now is around $300,000.

We are just coming in Summer (well almost plus its wishful thinking). The birds are definitely chirping their little heads of at 5.30am which doesn't do much for my allergy to mornings (can you tell I'm not a morning person). The temperature rises to around 16 to 19 deg now, which is beautiful.

I hope you do join in the ATC swap. I think it's going to be heaps of fun

    Hope your day goes well.

Hi Ann....I think somebody UK based to host is a great idea...i already host a ATC swap so am happy to host this one too if everyone is ok with that.....

The swap i already host is very simple,we all sign up by a certain date and the make that many ATC's to how many people have signed up....and then post them to the host by the closing date and then they get sorted and sent back out to you all.....does that sound ok to everyone???

    Hi all,

I am probably no good to join in a swop as I am hopeless at deadlines but I will watch eagerly to see if you post your finished ATC's on here. I am KIWi born and bred and after 17 years in the UK still see myself as a NZer!!

Would love to do a circle journal swop about NZ memories but wouldn't have a clue where to start!!

I've never done a circle journal before but some of my friends have. They are awesome. If you'd like to perhaps look into doing one I'm more than happy to give it a go

Circle Journal sounds good too!!! I'm happy to go with what everyone has done before as I'm a newbie at ATC's and CJ's!!

Kiwigirl - house prices definitely gone up since I was there! We used to live in a house in the middle of 60 acres of kiwifruit orchard!!! Such a different lifestyle! We also lived for a while in Mt Maunganui on Maungatapu Road, bet thats changed!!

Most parts of New Zealand have changed a lot according to the times, however, in the South Island, a lot still remains the same - country style living - less hectic, less people etc. House prices remain lowish compared to Auckland, which has the highest growth in population than anywhere else in NZ. You can still buy a house with 1/4 acre section in New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Invercargill etc for around $200,000 - 3brm home, fairly new, single storey, large grassy back yard etc. A lot of people with young families have moved away from Auckland due to the high cost of living as they can basically get the same salary but pay a lot less outgoings.

Anyway - I am definitely up for a swap and/or a circle journal. I'll continue this on the next entry
