How about book rings and decorate them with ribbon?

Love all of the books so far. I love making then, they are quick and easy and make great presents. Thanks to everyone for all their efforts and instructions

I don't have one either and was just coming on here to ask the same question. I had thought about book rings. Would threading ribbon through the holes work?

Not sure the pages would move too well with ribbon? We need to be inventive between us Bernice!

I've made a very similar book last year, putting a book ring on each side. It works well, but doesn't really stand up because the middle pages slip - so i would suggest using more than 1 book ring on each side.

Other than that -go for it!

it could work with ribbon, but you'd have to tie a separate piece through each hole, and make it loose enough that the page can turn.

Hi to all with out a BIA,

you could make it with ribbon tied through the holes as long as you dont tie to tight or you could use a bind it all wire and just puched the holes with a crop-a-dile or hole punch and squash the wire closed by hand :O)

hope this helps... and hope you like the book idea, not a great photo of me on it aged 10!

LOL - Claire... only 5 posts, you need to get on here girl, and stop spending so much time crafting!! lol

I have had a customer with the same question today who has bought the kit and I've said the same thing, if not tying seperate ribbons through each hole, why not try getting old shoe laces perhaps, or cord and lacing it through... it tends to be that bit 'slippier' for the pages to turn than using ribbon (which could also rub and tear)

And we can always punch all the holes for you ready for you to do as you wish when it gets to you. You can buy just beer mats too...
