    DM updates

It is a long time since I have used Design Master and I have never fully got to grips with it. I should like to have another go and should be grateful for some help.
I have the original software...not updated. My CR machine is one of the earliest white and blue models.
Could anyone tell me what upgrades I should be downloading?
Having done this, are there a set of new instructions relevant to the new upgrade?
Should be most grateful for any help.

    Hiya Robyn

Design Master is now Design Master 2 and the Robo software is now version 5.1 which is downloadable from the crafty club website.

I would advise you to look through the tutorials for both of them, or you could download silhouette software available from silhouette america site, silhouette is exactly the same as the robo.

Also have to tried inkscape thats a free to download program and again covered in the tutorials.

I don't know anything about Desigmaster but there are some tutorials
here that may help you. You can update your Robo software to version 5.1 (which is what most of us use) here if you scroll down a bit it's on the right.

    Edited to say

As Sandi has said you can use the Silhoette software but have a read of this before you use any of your GSD files with it

Thank you both for your replies. That is most helpful. I was actually expecting it to be a lot more complicated that that. Not often that CR is simpler than I thought!
If I could just be snowed in for just one ore day, I'll get this sorted.
    Very many thanks again

    Just reread the replies.
Yes I do use Inkscape. It was just that I had a distant memory that DM creates templates from ones own designs that cut more smoothly than the regular CR method. Today, I have spent so much time getting rid of nodes on the first template I have made for yonks, that I thought there must be an easier method. It was rubbish anyway!

You can download the latest version of Inkscape (version 0.48) from Inkscape.org and you can cut directly from Inkscape which is much smoother there's a tutorial for it here
