    Other Cutting Machines

Hi everyone, At present I have a Robo 200 but feel it is time to upgrade now.

Does anyone know where i could get a comparison chart of other machines?
I was looking at the pazzles insperation but have heard that the embossing feature is not that great.

    Thanks, Shirley

I think there is a comparison chart on the Paperthreads forum - a google search should find the site for you (can't like to another craft forum on here)

Shirley, give a good bit of thought about what you want to use the machine for and dont get swept away by all the features...... there is no point paying for something that you will never use.

In my opinion, the Craft Robo is amazing value for money. I get frustrated by the lack of cutting force now and again, but even when I do upgrade (prob a KNK Maxx) I will still regularly use my robo for ease and convenience, and if it ever broke I would still replace it.

I agree with Jennie, ask yourself why do you want to upgrade and what do you really want the machine to do for you, it isn't worth splashing out for some feature that is a fad and by this time next year no one will be interested in.

You mention embossing, what kind of embossing and are you going to do so much of it of it for many months to come? It is too easy to get caught up in the hype.

yes sit and think what you really need and will do most.

i have only tested the pazzles twice for embossing, once on aluminium sticky backed sheet and once on card not had time to play around much more recently.

as you know it will also do other things but again as a user ive not had time to play but as a seller i have sold several of the attachments.

email me through my website if you want any more help

Thanks everyone. I did like the fact that the pazzles embossed but after hearing it doesn't do a very good job it kind of put me off. The other thing I liked was the fact it cut deeper and covered a wider cutting area. I shall do some more homework.

If you want to do a lot of embossing you'd be best off getting something like the Cuttlebug that is actually designed to do the job. You can then make your own embossing folders - there's been several discussions on this, there are some in the templates section, and there's probably a tutorial on how to make them too!

Thanks Rosemary, I do have a wizard and some embossing folders, but you are still limited to what you can emboss - size wise. My poor wee brain is piockled Shirley
