It won't be unstable for ever you have to remember it is an ongoing project and changes almost every day, so bugs and crashes are par for the course. That is why I haven't installed it more permanently than the desk top.

I apologize for not just posting the link... it was late last night when I posted (I'm in Arizona) and I wanted to check out a few of the other links they had there to see if one might be closer to what we saw in the video than the most current version. I also noticed that the drop down menu said "triangle in" and "triangle out" versus "crescendo" and... uh... the other one!

Anyhow, thanks for writing the tutorial and getting those interested started on it. I'll still make the video because there are a lot of interested people at the Yahoo groups now wanting to also see how this works. Plus some of them couldn't get that wonderful demo video you found to load on their computers. So, now I need to also do a few examples myself to show them what this feature can do!

One more thing.... what do you need to do in order to weld the pieces together? I tried just doing a marquis-select of my various swirls after overlapping them and I got a mess when I used Path>Union to weld. I can export/import into KNK/DM just fine and weld there, but for those who just use RM and can only weld in Inkscape, how do you get the images to weld?

    Thanks! Again, great discovery, Lucille!

Perfect! Thanks! I've not used Inkscape in two years, so a lot of these functions are just not in my brain any longer!

I unzipped it to my desktop and there isn't an setup.exe command, so I thought that suits me I don't want you in programs yet.

In fact I made it a new folder called Inkscape Project for any further unstable versions.

You must be doing something wrong it works OK for me.

The new spiro tools have different names than in the video but they do the same thing as you can see from my first efforts further up in this thread.

Remember this is version is changing all the time and it is unstable.

If anyone is having trouble downloading or doing the "non-install", I created several short videos to cover each step. There are links in yesterday's post on my blog (see link in signature below).
