Gluing braid onto shiny paper/card? Help!
I have made an A4 card (for a commission), and I was asked to adhere gold braiding around the outside. I cut a border in gold shiny paper/thin card for it to lie on but as it's shiny the braid isn't sticking v well. I've tried Glossy Accents but it still comes off when the card is handled (and it's currently being passed around for loads of signatures!).
Anyone any ideas how to get it to stick please? Not v good at sewing plus I'd have to go and buy (probably pricey) gold thread... Was actually thinking about using double sided tape cut in half widthways as the braiding isn't v wide but it's also got holes in the pattern so the tape may show through
Thanks for any help!

Hi Patsy - I usually have success with glossy accents when everything else fails - have you tried sticking dbsided tape - a good make one and putting a stick glue like amos on the top to give a bit of movement. Sorry I can't be any more help

Thanks girls I won't get the card back until Saturday so I'll have a go then... Can see it being one sticky mess by the time I've exhausted these options

Use crystal tape - the one with the red backing, available from Hobbycrafts. It is really strong! You need to be careful how you apply it, though - one down, you can't lift it. The make is Impex, otherwise Stix 2 do one as well.

Thanks for all your help - I used DST and it worked a treat - even with the braid! Not sure why I didn't think of it in the first place

I also use double sided tape to stick down ribbon and braid and if there are decorative holes in the ribbon or braid then I just sprinkle some glitter over and brush it off the ribbon or braid itself.
