    thanks again
I've never seen the cuttlebug mat for sale before this week so I assume it must be a fairly recent offering, which will be why people have come up with the other options. If you want to use it, just go ahead - the only way to discover if things work is try them out.

Maybe I'm too late to help you but I cut out a rectangle out of a silicone cake tray. It has to be flat and not bumpy. It's the correct thickness. I got two sheets out of my silicone cake tray. If this could help you. Good Luck.

You can buy silicone baking sheets, some have markings on but some are plain. I chopped one up to make mats for the Cuttlebug, they happened to have them at a discount store so it wasn't expensive.

I also work with one on my desktop because everything comes off them really easily, just rinse with soap and water. It also stops cards and stuff from slipping around.

finally got a mat, it's a proper one for the wizard which apparently works great in the bug, also bought some nesties.

Just thought I'd say do be careful when embossing with nesties, if you force or use the wrong mat you can easily break your Bug! I have a blog which features tutorials and tips on using Nesties and the Cuttlebug. You are very welcome to pop in and if any questions please contact me. Tomorrow I will be showing you how to stencil with your Nesties and also have a hot tip for embossing Nesties without any mat at all!

thanks Ikki, do you know where i could get a list of 'sandwich' instructions ideally for the bug, ie. which to use for cutting/embossing etc.
Ideally some that I could print off so I could have them to hand.
