Best way to stick intricate shapes

I use a rolling ball glue pen - I just put little dots of glue around and don't need to spread it out.

Can someone please tell me the best way to stick/glue intricate shapes. I have used my robo to cut out welded words and intricate shapes/lattice but when it comes to glueing thes onto the finished card it becomes a nightmare. Any suggestions whould be most welcome

If its a design that I've used the whole card for, I would normally cut it back to front and then used the spray adhesive to attach to card.
