    Scrap Your Day by Shimelle

The original thread was located HERE.

This fabulous project by Shimelle is being launched as part of our precybercrop classes (April 08 cybercrop), but its not just for cybercroppers, its for everyone

Ever wished the cybercrop lasted all year? Now it can. The Oscars cybercrop brings you a project that starts this April and keeps right on going, but don't worry...it won't be too much work! For the next twelve months, the 25th will be an official 'Scrap Your Day' day here at UKS. On the 25th of the month, we'll all pick up our cameras and snap the things we see, and this book gives us a place to put those photos and write down the details.

Tomorrow (Tuesday 15th) at 7am, you'll be able to buy this Scrap Your Day kit from shimelle.com. The kit includes one 7x15 spiral bound calendar album by Making Memories and thirteen sheets of 6x12 patterned paper by American Crafts, Sassafras Lass and Crate Paper (designs as shown below).

When you purchase the kit, you'll also receive a PDF file illustrating the quick construction of this album -- it makes the 6x12 papers make sense and it will mean that keeping your book going is just a matter of adding photos and a few notes each month rather than reinventing the wheel.

The kit costs £10 plus £2 postage and packing and will be sent to you via First Class post.

To this basic kit, you'll add a few elements from your own stash to customise the look. You'll need a set of letter stamps and a black ink pad (or any other lettering option you love), scraps of cardstock and a few of your favourite embellishments like flowers or ribbons.

If you want to take part but use all of your own stash, just sit tight, and you can still join us. The Scrap Your Day project will have monthly prompts, tips and illustrations that are free for all members of UKS, including suggestions for making your own book that would be suitable for the project.

So, check out Shimelle.com tomorrow if you'd like to buy your kit, then check back here on the 21st for more details

HELP- did everyone leave space for a title page? I have not made my book up yet (made the pages, but not joined them IYKWIM) so I can change it if I have to, but just realised that I have an extra page, is this what it is for?

I didn't leave space for a title page cos I didn't think I would know what to do with one! I think Shimelle did leave space for it in the plan though..

Ty, just getting to actually stiking the book togeter now, and realised I had a problem. Think I will leave an extra page in for now, but not for a title page, as I dont think I will fill it. Can always take it out later.

I've been working in my garden this weekend and it looks lovely. I hope the slugs leave it alone until at least the 25th !

I have been combating the slugs and snails a kinder way... I have smoothered the outside of my pots and around the edge of raised borders with vaseline (cheap pots from a pound shop) ..... it does a look a little unsightly at first but now I hardly notice it and so far so good ... in fact I think the snails might even have shipped out of the garden as there certainly doesn't seem as many as before
