I don't use Ez Mount on my stamps and no foam mats underneath as I find I get a clearer image with just the stamp on the acrylic block, card and a table

I just use versafine and take the ink to the stamp not the other way around. I use EzMount on my desk surface and press quite firmly.

are you "rocking" the stamp? do you pull up when you've stamped rather than sideways IYKWIM?

also, have you trimmed any extra rubber? I find i have to trim as close as i can get to the image.

I used to get a lot of "over stamp" but less now altho certain stamps are still a little funny.

I don't use versafine for that very reason. I use Stazon. For me personally I like the fine line it gives. On larger stamps I use a pad to stamp on but in general use the stamp prit stuck on acrylic. Hold the stamp in one hand and the pad in the other and gently tap the pad on the stamp, this way you can feel how much pressure you are applying.
New ink pads are a nigtmare as they are loaded with ink. You need to apply no pressure at all really.

I use Versafine Onyx black if I'm watercolouring or Tim Holtz Black soot distress ink for colouring in Copics, I get a fine line with both

Thanks for the advice evryone, No, I don't 'rock' I take the ink to the stamp, put the stamp on the paper, press down and then lift it off. Also I have cut really close to the image too. Maybe my surface I am stmping on is not strong enough, I use a keyboard draw on my desk, maybe a harder surface is in order?

Fab cards and ATCs everyone by the way xxx
