inkscape proplem?

have no idea whats going on pm susibe ealier but what she said to do did not help either im totally confused heres a screen shot of what i get when i typed the letter D and it does not matter what font i use i get the same thin blue square any ideas

Have you tried uninstalling Inkscape and then reinstalling?

hi yeah did that first its really puzzeling me i can draw a shape no problem
just cant right text it does not appear on the screen

when you say you cannot type a letter d, are you using a dingbat that is supposed to give you a shape by using the letter d?

or are you just using text?

if the later what font is it, not all fonts can be used in inkscape usually dingbats, i could never use sarus flower ding.

also which icon ar you using to choose your text?

the big T along the top or the big A on the left?

double click on the big A on the left and from the box that comes up makes sure you have a dot next to use this tools own style
