Thanks Nicky for the info about the sharpener - I shall not waste my money if they are not that good - will keep looking!! Erika, I found mine broke even using the little sharpener that came with it!

I had this problem too. I emailed the manufacturers and asked for their comments - lots of the pencils broke and keep breaking - and eventually got a reply asking me to return them (they have a satisfaction guarantee) for a replacement. Not sent them yet, got to find the time.....
