Hey Jenny, my poles (the same as Fay's) are about 2cam diameter. The little balls at the end un-screw too.

    The poles are about 1.5cm.

Oops - just read Gemma's post - I'd say they were smaller than 2cm

LOL I have a habit of doing things like that to liberate them for crafting purposes!

2cm max, I was using a metal tape-measure It bent rather than curled.
I'd say it was possible to use the "over the door" bit to drill holes to make it wall mountable....there's an idea, my scraproom doors are glass. Might ask DH about that when he gets home tonight.

Thanks - looks like these (on the rings) would be perfect then (I know they're more expensive than Ikea, but as that's a two hour round trip I'm saving myself a lot of petrol!)

Fay, have you tried any punches on the poles, wondering if they would sit nice on them?

I haven't, I'm worried about putting too much weight on it as my door is slightly too thick for the hooks on the top and so it's tilting slightly. I think they would sit on OK though.

Did buy this from Ikea, but it takes up the whole pole so will take it back. Have seen the little cups posted over on the 'what to buy from Ikea thread' and think I'm going to get some of those.
