On a Stash Diet !!!
Hadn't heard about the new dies, so I'm glad I came back to read the comments in this thread!
I'd already voted Big Shot, as that was the one I went for having deliberated for quite a while..... I appreciated the fact that the Cuttlebug folds for storage and crop packing, but with two young grand-daughters (and having seen the way they treat things at home) I didn't fancy the chances of the fold-down bits lasting particularly long if I turned my back on them for a few seconds. Also, people have kept telling me how stable it is as it suctions to the work surface when you lower the side pieces -- but that's not a lot of good when you do 90% of your cutting on the carpeted floor like I do
As for colours -- I'm glad I already have my machine! I don't like the new colour scheme one little bit. I'm not one that 'goes for' pink, but in this case I think the sidekick looks like it will get dirty very quickly, and the amount of black on the Bigshot is depressing and makes it look like a functional tool rather than a fun gadget (if that makes sense).

and if they're cheap enough DD may find herself getting one..... I got her a bargain Tag-A-Long starter set for Christmas (along with some really cheap dies), but a Big Shot would mean she can borrow more than just my Sizzlets/Thin Cuts/QK

Its very intresting the vote vs the comments.
Making me wonder now about the new dies, saying that my bug is mainly used for alphas and embossing folders so I wont panic about them.

A GoG and proud
Oh! glad I found this thread, my friend is wanting to buy something for her sisters "big" birthday and I suggested either of these machines...although having seen the black and pink big shot..I WANT ONE lol! I will let her know your comments.
Thanks for the info on both ladies, that was a big help.

I think there's something wrong with the thread ... it keeps popping up in my 'unread' threads without anything new being added! LOL Driving me mad!
