Watercolour paper
Whats a good brand (from uk) for watercolouring/blending using markers like marvy? Its to be stamped on. The card I use works well with pencil but the markers dont blend at all so thought watercolour paper would work better for the job but dont know where to start with brands

I use Daler Rowney 300 g/m - and this seems to be a good brand.
I have stamped and watercoloured on it but never used Marvy pens so not sure how that would work. But it is excellent for watercolours.

just wondering, are you scribbling your markers onto acetate/tile/an old plate and picking your colour up with a wet brush or are you colouring and then trying to blend?

I prefer not to stamp onto watercolour paper as it has a slight texture and can sometimes interfere with the image transfer, I prefer to stamp onto a smooth surface, if I am gonna add watercolours I prefer to stamp onto a heavy weight card (290gms) so the card does not buckle.
If you want to stamp onto paper and colour, you would have to "stretch" it before hand which means wetting in water, lying it flat and taping it down , you could then stamp and watercolour on it when it has fully dried..(do not take tape off until the pic is dry when finished)..hope that makes sense.

No I want to do a direct to paper technique. I normally pick the colours up then paint but have seen a technique using markers direct to watercolour paper then blending here
Its an american blog so she uses different paper thats available here.

Sounds like the same one as me Bird. It really does take a stamp well - I haven't tried it with markers yet though.
Thanks for the link to the blending Chunky Munky - looks great - I'm going to give it a go with some pens I've already got. There are, of course, a hundred other things I should be doing this afternoon, but now I've seen those instructions I want to have a go!
I'm going to try it with Prismas too but not on watercolour paper obviously!

I have been using watercolour paper from poundland, I thought I would give it a go and it's really good. It's smooth, doesn't buckle and the images look clear.
So it's worth looking at your local pound shop!
