    Which book??

OK I have a £15 voucher I have earnt to spend on Amazon and just wondered which books (scrapbook related of course!) you would recommend? In the past when I have bought books I have been disappointed (Lisa Bs stuff is just not me! and I also got the Love your Handwriting one - looked at once and not since!) so wondered which ones you would not be without!

    Thanks for your help.

I've had Cathy Zielske's Clean & Simple the Sequel and Stacey Julian's Big Picture from Amazon and I love both of them. I still haven't quite worked out what my style is but these certainly give you a lot of inspiration.

Helen, I love the books that Autumn Leaves bring out but it is difficult to recommend a book as everyone's taste is different. I love my Elsie Flannigan and although I have umm'd and arr'd I will probably get her new one which comes in a box like receipe cards.

Can you not have a thumb through some to see if anything takes your fancy before you commit to buy (good bookshop, craft shop with a good book section).

I can understand you not wanting to get something else to add to the pile on the shelf **says she looking at the pile of craft books on her own shelf**

Elsie F for me too! I'd be inclined to wait till it comes in stock. Though I think I remember it was a big price on Amazon.

Helen, if it's any use as you "know" me, I bought the Elsie one but didn't like it at all... And did the same as you with HS Love Your Handwriting.

I do quite like The Big Picture.

I love scrapbooks, in fact i think i may be addicted but I think it's hard to suggest one for other people because we are all so different and it does depend what you are looking for.
The one I'm most in love with at the moment is Out of Bounds: Scrapbooking Without Boundaries by Jodi Amidei and Torrey Scott. It's not what i'd call an how to book, it won't walk you through scrapbooking and it assumes the reader is quite capable of working out how to do the layout it shows with just a bit of guidence but it's full of really different ideas, themes i would not normally have thought of for layouts and scrapbooking outside the album ideas and it covers life from the good times to the not so good.

Why don't you try your local library before you buy? I borrowed both of Cathy Zielske's books through our library so that I could have a good look before buying. Wasn't my sort of thing though - I think I prefer the messy, busy look rather than the clean simple one

    And it's free!

MMM think I can do both but at the moment I am going through a busy phase so if anyone has a messy busy book they can recommend that would be good !

I have various Memory Makers books and love them and use them constantly. I love the quick and easy scrapbook pages for their page ideas and I have one called Creative Layout Variations which is the same photos used 3 different ways depending on time, budget or skill level. It's great. Saying that, I have bought one of there books scrap your travels or something and was a bit disappointed as it wasn't what I hoped for...def check them out at your library or somewhere like Borders where you can have a good browse through.
