i have older version R300 and i have tried compatibles but my machine didn't like them, the colour wasn't as vibrate and they didn't have as much ink in them.

I used to have the R300 and used compatibles for a while but quality was nowhere near as good as with the proper inks. Plus, with the cheapo inks, I found that I had to do a nozzle clean if I didn't use my printer for a couple of days.

I now have the R360 and found the cheapest place for the genuine Epson ink was Amazon - £30 for all 6.

Same here. I have the R300 and only use Epson inks in it, far better than other inks. I have tried Tesco's premium ink and that is the only one that would be anywhere near the same quality but now I've come to realize that it doesn't last as long as the Epson one. I also only use Epson photo paper to print on too.

Have this one and got a good deal on genuine catridge set through marketplace of a very well known retailer on the web. I used non-genuine ones with our last Epson printer and a) ruined it as it had such clogged nozles the print quality was appalling after time and b) the colours were so far off what they were meant to be it probably cost as much in re-printing things / wasting paper. The inks stank of fish (?) and were awful. Wouldn't do it again!
