Have heard someone say before about punching it through foil a few times to try and "sharpen" but have not tried it, might be worth a go?

    Good luck!

You can punch through waxed paper to help punches parts stop sticking (like dry oiling them IYKWIM).

Don't know if this will help but try putting a thin sheet of paper, like printer paper, through with the vellum, sometimes it hasn't enough body to punch.

That's a good idea, you could "sandwich" the vellum. Will have to remember this one!

The bags inside cornflakes etc are usually waxed paper - free!

Yes, comes in rolls, the sort of thing that you would line a baking tray/cake tin with. I only got some at my local supermarket the other day.

Get a candle stub and rub it over a piece of scrap paper - then punch through the waxed bit a couple of times....

    Works a treat for me!

Alas these things are evil. ALL corner punches mess up at least one corner, usually the 3rd or 4th. There is no cure as there is no reason for them doing it other than for pure evil cruelty!!

I suugest you find a design that doesn't need this punch, I promise this is the best idea you'll ever have.

My only suggestion with using the punch is to pretend you don't care, that the vellum you're punching doesn't matter one bit, it isn't important, it's just rubbish, I'm just punching for the hell of it. That SOMETIMES works but the puch will beat you in the end!

PS I hate them more than you!!
PPS If you throw it it will only break something else..this is a bitter experience story.

Tomjacob you are so RIGHT! Unfortunately I cant change the design of the invites now..... so instead I prepare for a night of punching hellishness, I shall pretend it doesnt matter one little bit that when I waste at least one out of three pieces!! but rest assured I will not make this mistake again......

Wish me luck.....!!! I think im gona need it

    Thanks x x x x

fiskars ones are always hell to use anyway , and yes they do always ruin at least 1 in 4 attempts . i empathise with you as i had to do 200 invites , each with 4 corners punched with a fiskars design , i ruined loads

    OMG

[NOTE to SELF] - do NOT use a friskars punch when planning the design of sons wedding invitations

I want to resist the futile attempt to overpower the evil creation !

I have a lovely heart punch that just won't - punch, that is! Its been like it from brand new. I am off now to try out the tin foil and the waxed paper to see if I can actually get it to produce one heart, let alone one in four!!

Dare I take out that damn fiskars punch from out of the crevise in the cupboard and try to wax it?!

Nope it can stay in hybernation! I'll wait until another day... I've got too much to do and if it decides not to play it'll definitely go in the bin this time!
