What paper do I need to emboss with my inkjet printer?

    Hi

I recently got a canon mp600 printer which is an inkjet with a pigment ink cartridge for text.

I thought that with it being pigment ink that I would be able to heat emboss my printouts, however the ink is drying too quickly on my normal copier paper and on normal medium weight card.

Do I need a special type of card to get this effect or is my canon just not up to the job?

I am well annoyed with said printer

I think I'm right in saying that the pigment ink that printers use are not the same as the pigment ink you use for scrapbooking.
The pigment ink on printers will apparantly last up to 100 years or more (according to reports) without fading unlike the dye ink that a most printers have.

What you could do is try and write over the printing with a clear embossing pen and then heat emboss. A bit of a long and precise job though !

I've managed to heat emboss on vellum which was printed with my printer - you have to be quick though....

Try using a glossy paper, the ink should take longer to dry on it.

Or get the special embossing inkjet paper from crafty computer paper.
