I have been thinking about this all week You could get little novelty chocs - M&S ussually do little santas etc in string bags that are quite flat.
I also thought about jewellry, keyrings, crafty bits?
Could you not get somebody else to fill it for you then it would be suprises?

I'm going to put mine in a decorated tissue box and sticking the side of one of the spare match boxes on the top so you can light them. I'm gonna give it to my parents for the open fire downstairs.

The little chocs would be good. I also have some small decorations (they were wine glass thingys, but I've put thread through to hang them). I will get someone else to fill it up for me so I don't know what I am going to get when.
Anyway, I managed to take a reasonable couple of pics of mine now....here

A bit odd
ooo these are all lovely, mine is in my blog.
I have made 2 one for my son and one for OH. I filled them with Cadbury Dairy Milk special variety chocs. I got 2 boxes for I think £4 in Asda.
There are 25 chocs in each box, so I used 48 and ate the other 2 LOL
They are perfect size to fit in the drawers.

Here's mine, inspired by Natbag.
I've decided to just put the chocs in the relevant drawer the night before DDs open it, otherwise I can just imagine finding DD2 behind the sofa scoffing the lot!!!
