Perse- did you spray them with water about 20 mins before using? This helps to soften them to a more paste like consistency. If you don't like them, pop them down the road and I'll buy them off you

I bought the art quest paints and felt the same way about them so went onto the H20's...

I use a waterbrush with my H20's... which set have you gone for Heather?!

I normally drop a drip or two onto the paint and then start to mix it round and then start to paint with them.. you should see the shimmer as soon as you paint... You can have loads of paint to make the colour strong or a lot less paint for a more watercoloured effect.

I did pritz them with water before starting but I think that as Kezza says I went for too solid a colour. i also dont think the paper i'm using atm is suitable so shall have to just have a play around with them.

Not giving up on them yet. I bought some lumiere oil paints and they sat ina cupboard for eons adn then I started usingt ehm and have nearly run out

Just a matter of practice I think.

I'll bringt hem with me tomorrow Stig so that I can have a play

I like it - love the stamp. You could try putting a pale wash over the whole area first, then stamp (when dry) and colour in image afterwards. I find watercolour paper best as well. I'll bring my watercolour pad to crop tomorrow and you can try.

Have just used my H20s for the first time tonight on a card. Will take a piccie tomorrow and post on my blog. They are gorgeous but I have to agree they have to be for the right kind of image otherwise they look 'wrong' IMHO. I stamped and coloured a fairy stamp tonight and she looks lovely

Persephone and I have just been to a crop where we did a very scientific appraisal of colouring
H2O's- great on some images- not brilliant on watercolour paper- fab on dark paper.
Marvys- OK. Better when scribbled on something plastic and picked up and painted with a water brush. Good straight to stamp effect.
Cheap shimmer paints from The Works- Fab! Lovely shimmer for the right image
Watercolour pencils- very easy and quicker than other methods
After 3.5 hours we ran out of time (We were chatting just a bit)
