1971, help needed with events etc

Im making a book for my boyfriends birthday, based on the events of 1971, found quite a few things out but just wondering if anyone can recommend any sites for information. Would relly like to know the price of bread and milk back then and that sort of stuff, but all I find in google is US stuff.

There was a thread about this sort of thing just the other day, think most people suggested going to the BBC website and doing a search for 1971 to find lots of facts about that year

yup been on wikepedia and the 1 love 1971 bbc site, just need some different stuff....really want prices, bet it wil be something silly like 12p for a loaf of bread

I got married in 1971!!! Bread 9p loaf, pint milk 5p,litre of petrol 7.3p,pint of beer 11p, 400gm jar nescafe 50p, our terraced house needed modernising and cost £1500, cadburys launced the creme egg, DH worked in a shop and earned £12 per week, I worked at th ehospital path lab and got £19 per week...........
