    USB Port

Knew i had read something somewhere about the USB Port!!

Just found this on the cricut website:

"USB Port The USB port is on the machine for two reasons. The first is that it can be used for downloading future software updates that govern the machine's operations.

The second reason is that we have plans to make the Cricut™ compatible with a computer and take advantage of its strengths. However, the details of how, when, and what this will be aren't known quite yet.

Keep an eye on the website and sign up for the newsletter. We'll have more information through that forum when the time comes."

So in theory the current machine will at some point hook up to a PC

That got me thinking to another post I had seen on the cricut community thread posted by the administrators etc which kind of supports that quote you found but at the same time leaves a big question mark IYGWIM!

"We would like to thank you for your interest and inquiries regarding the CricutTM Personal Electronic CutterTM. Provo Craft recognizes the importance of creating innovative products that allow you to express yourself in creative new ways. It has come to our attention that a recent message board posting has generated interest regarding the future development of the CricutTM Personal Electronic CutterTM. In an effort to maintain Cricut’s market leadership and innovation, there are certain details regarding new product development that Provo Craft is unable to disclose. Please be ****ured that Provo Craft will continue to support the current model of the CricutTM machine while we build and expand upon all the creative and innovative options that are available.

We realize CricutTM cartridge content is critical to creativity and expression. In addition, we also recognize that you, our customers, have invested your time and money in making CricutTM the best and most popular personal electronic cutter on the market. Therefore, it is our intent to maintain cartridge compatibility with future CricutTM products.

In addition to further CricutTM machine development, there have also been many inquiries regarding the USB port on the back of the CricutTM Personal Electronic CutterTM. Please be advised that the USB port currently allows our service center and engineers to test and update the machine. We know that there has been much speculation and anticipation regarding the future use of this USB port and the possible connection to your personal computer. Provo Craft and its development team have spent much time considering the feasibility and the benefits to you, our customer, should we decide to pursue a PC solution for the CricutTM. At this time, however, we cannot confirm any connectivity capabilities between the CricutTM Personal Electronic CutterTM and your PC.

Provo Craft values and appreciates any feedback provided through this forum as well as through our support organization. In order to receive up-to-date information and details regarding our CricutTM Personal Electronic CutterTM, upcoming content, and USB usage, we encourage you to sign up to receive the CricutTM Chirp Newsletter by visiting www.cricut.com. We anticipate releasing new and exciting announcements in the very near future.

    Most sincerely,

    Your CricutTM team

Which cartridges do you all tend to get the most use from - I love the look of all of them!!!
