Insert's and Verses - do you go for them?

I seem to spend a great deal of time putting inserts with appropriate verses in my cards - what do you do?

depends on who the card is for, and how much of a hurry I'm in.

prefer to use an insert, even if it only has 'Happy Birthday' printed on it though.... looks much more professional

Usually use an insert but it is often left blank , just think it is never to write on paper rather than the card .

I always add an insert and either print off a verse or whatever - or sometimes just stamp a 'Happy Birthday' 'Congratulations' etc

I buy pre-printed inserts for my cards. however, i have been known to make my own inserts very simply by trimming down plain A4 paper to fit card, and adding a 'best wishes' peel off

Inserts always just seem to finish a card off, I tend to use white card but then try and match the insert up with any other colour I have used. If I am making a card to sell then I would always put a insert and verse inside. If I am in a real rush though and I am sending it to someone then sometimes I don't bother.

I try to match up but I also like to use cream parchment paper and also vellum. I bought lots of pre-printed inserts last year for my Christmas cards.

These days, i usually pop an insert into my cards. Firstly, it helps make it easier for the purchaser to write in as often the cardstock I use is shiny or won't take ink well. Secondly, it gives the card a bit more substance anmd makes it a little sturdier. And then there's the handy fact an insert can often hide brad points, ribbon ends, stitching etc or other bits you don't necessarily want on display!
I hardly ever have any writing on the inserts as I find people buy the cards for different purposes. Christmas card inserts are the only one I'm likely to add any words to.

I use plain paper as my insert and if the card is coloured I try to use a tone of the colour. My big problem is always finding suitable verses at short notice. I am not organised to have a stock of cards ready and usually end up making a card the day before it should be posted and it's then I seem to spend hours looking for site's that have good verses.

Anyone got any good site's they can recommend?

I put inserts into cards if I am making them for other people to send, and will put a verse or greeting in as requested. For those I make to send myself - it really depends on who it is for and the occassion.

Sometimes, I'll just tear a square/oblong of cardstock and add it in - gives a rustic look

I always use inserts as well. Cut down A4 paper and print a verse on it. Everyone I make for wants them. I got a CD from a craft fair I was at and it has all sorts of verses on it. Birthday Wedding Sympathy etc.
