Question "Sellotape" Sticky Fixers - acid free??

Doesn't say anything on the packet as to whether acid-free or not? Would you use them on a LO? If they're not acid-free, how far from the photo do they need to be? (wanted to raise the frame surrounding the photo)

Well, I wouldn't use them, but then I have enough other adhesives Also, I used Sellotape to mend paperbacks as a kid and have seen what that stuff does!

The acid free debate is interesting. The main issue is whether the item itself will deteriorate or cause damage to the rest of the LO, including the photo. Lignin is the substance (from wood pulp) that causes the pages of books to go yellow (correct me if I am wrong, folks), so that may not be a good idea.

I usually avoid using items I do not know to be acid and lignin free as the main components of LOs, i.e. printed papers and cardstock, page protectors etc., but I am not that strict about it for embellishments. Since I reckon most other stuff, including the photos (I have never yet used an 'original') can be replaced, I am not that concerned.

Thanks guys - wimped out in the end - stuck some card scraps together with herma to make "building blocks" which I then stuck on with (acid free) glue dots to raise the frame instead - Blue Peter eat your heart out!

See, I should have read the whole of your post - you could use foam tape or pads in the future....

The sticky fixers are foam pads - I use them for card-making, but they just don't say that they're acid-free so wasn't sure if could use them on LO. Are there foam pads/tape around that are acid-free?
