colour help
hi i hope someone can help i have some pictures which i would like to make black and white and then tint certain parts in a red colour. i dont have photoshop but have a program that can turn it b/w but not the bit red.
any ideas welcome
i have some alcohol inks - can i use these and if so has anyone any tips?
and i also have photoplus 6, but not sure how to use it properly!! (just used it to erase certain areas of a photo up to now)

I think you can get special photo tinting inks. But I would print a few copies and experiment with what you've got.

If you have photoplus 6, you can use this to do the spot colour. Copy the picture and paste it as a new layer. Go to Image, then Adjust and finally Greyscale so that the top layer is black and white. Use the eraser tool and rub out the parts of the black and white image that you want in colour. The original colour image will show through from underneath.

Just realised, this only works if your original picture has the colour that you want in it.

i made a copy of mine and coloured the area in with a gel type pen...looks ok.

i got my photo here
it's not great cos i had to print it to scan it and my cartridge is on it's last legs!!! but non the less for a first attempt i'm dead chuffed - so thanks again
