Good grief Elaine, that is an amazing card, I sometimes wonder why I bother when I see cards like that! How long did it take to make, it looks like such a lot of hard work and precision?
I'm so glad to hear that your DIL has had her reconstruction and already has 3 of 4 drains out. Isn't it just incredible what surgeons can do these days.
I have to ask because I know this is a predictive typing thing, but what did the 'note' one mean? Is that the blue or green? I've also made the top a pale green which is pretty but making it pink hasn't worked as well for some reason. I might try blue next. I thought these cards could be boxed up with birthday, get well, just for you etc... it would even do for valentine.
As for the design Ellie, I've had a search for it and can't find it now. I am always Googling background papers and designs because I love to print them out and play around. It will be like a mission now to find it, if I do would you like the link?
Sorry I see what you mean..I changed it..note meant blue..lol
Thanks for your kind words.. I am sure she'll love it..she still has last year's easel card up! It took about 2-3 hours on and off. I started by stencilling the back panel onto vellum and then heat embossed it in black, added a black frame (to make it look like a Japanese screen) and then made all the other pieces. It isn't hard once you've got the box made..it's just a case of adding scraps of paper, cut to size. I just followed a YT tutorial initially.
I've just pm'd you and I like the softness of the blue. I would definitely take photo of her opening that card because her expression will be something to capture and be great for a birthday LO!
You must have infinite patience Elaine! It looks so intricate.
I'm with you Susie. When I saw Elaine's card, I thought,
" well that makes mine look mighty plain"
Yes please Susie, if you find it, I would love it.
It's my DD wedding anniversary in March and I would like
to make it for her, and my SIL of course

I used the same papers to make DHs Valentines card too. You can't really see it in the photo but I used the same stencil and gold heat embossed it but unfortunately it doesn't show up.
You two, honestly!!!...your cards are beautiful! I just wanted to do a special one for Mum for obvious reasons.
Aww, you old romantic you :) that's lovely

Yes I can see why Elaine, and she will absolutely love it.
I made a special Father's Day card for my Dad last year, for the same reasons.
Not that he could see it very well, but he did like it :)

Okay, it would seem the background paper is from Granny enchanted.com they do lots of freebies and free scrapbook kits. I've just been having a browse, there is so much to look at. Here's the link:http://grannyenchantedspaperdirector...scrapbook.html
Here is just the border which I downloaded on its own. Have to use this now!

That looks really good. Thank you. I will look at it on the computer, because I don't
think you can download to an iPad, which I'm using now.

Well, I think I'm the queen of plain and simple, here's my cards for this week, can't get much simpler than the first one ...

Loving all the cards. Your mum will love those Elaine. Think I'll make a box card for Mother's Day, they are so effective
Fantastic cards ladies but Elaine that Oriental box card is amazing. It looks like a real labour of love but worth all the time you spent on it. I'm sure your Mum will love it.
