This has happened a couple of times to me and I’m not sure what I am doing wrong.
When I go to comment on some people’s LO’s when I click to submit it says that I haven’t completed the field and won’t let me post......any ideas?
TIA

Dee, we have discovered that if you don’t use apostrophes it works !
Not sure if it’s just an ipad thing but I always have to write everything without any apostrophes.
Hope that helps
Thank you Alison, I will try that.
I think what we need is to see if we can find the common thread between you two who are having the same problem. As it is not everyone who is having the issue, it is most likely to be with your set up (that could be the browser you use, and the version of it, or the system OS you use, Mac or Windows, version, etc) so if you tow have something in common and changing that thing (for example try using a different browser - Firefox, Safari, Chrome, whatever) from what you usually use and see if that solves the problem!
It’s when I’m using my iPad, with safari.
Think it’s ok on the pc
It’s iPad and iPhone for me too and for quite a few of us I believe but most of us now know to forget about apostrophes so it’s all good.
Yeah, I’ve just got used to it now :)
Yes it’s iPad for me but now I know the problem I can avoid it :)
Humm. I had a weird thing happen recently where I was trying to download a video using a Mac tool. My OS is old, so it wasn't working but before we worked out that was why it wouldn't work, my hubby also informed me that not all punctuation is the same and the command I was typing included " but my quotes were the "wrong" ones. I can't explain it but I sort of understand it. It has to do with Unicode, which standardizes text coding. I think the easiest explanation is that the font I was using somehow displayed the unicode for " differently so it was not recognized by whatever it needed to be recognized by. If it is all a consistent problem that happens with Mac products, then at least we can rule out a problem native to UKS. I'll ask the Hubster what he thinks and have a look in the control panel. No idea if we will be able to figure it out, but I'll have a go....
Well - it's a thing.
I found this cryptic info n another vB board This function converts all HTML entities inside posts to their respective ASCII char. For example ' will be converted to ' So it sounds like the same issue I had! Somehow vB does not read the unicode for ' as ' and there is a process to run that will correct this - maybe. Carry on avoiding apostrophes on iPads and iPhones for now and if I can sort out how to fix it I will.
Thanks MaryAnne :)
It’s not a big issue now we know what was causing it
