Rubber O rings perished on Cameo roller bar

Just wondering if anyone has any bright ideas... using my elderly Cameo this morning I noticed the black rubber rings have perished (a horrible sticky black mess now on the bar!) It cut out what I wanted ok (once I had worked out how to fix the Windows update that had stopped the laptop seeing the Cameo) so I did wonder about just ignoring rather than trying to replace the rings. The white plastic bits still hold the card on the sticky mat, though I don't know if it would cope with any fine cutting.

No idea but I guess they are there to help hold the media in place, they have been replaced n the newer machines with springy like things. You could always ring Graphtec GB for advice or just see how it goes as you use it :)

Thanks Shirley. As you say, I think I'll just see how it goes. Looking on Youtube it looks a right faff to get the roller bar off to put new rings or gaskets on, so if I don't need to do it, I won't!
