Hi,
I need a small trimmer for cutting mats etc.
What makes do you use/recommend?
Saw cheap ones on Amazon. But don't know if they will be any good. Would rather buy one that's recommended.
TIA 😊

Not sure how 'mini' you want, Tracey, but I have a lightweight Firbon one which is light and slim, and cuts up to 12x12. It's 15" long and 6" wide, so it's easy to store. It's the kind where the cutting blade slides along the length of the paper or card, and it has markings to help you position things before cutting.
I also have an X-cut guillotine style one. I don't use the guillotine much because I find the paper slips sometimes, and the cut isn't always where I want it.
Glad you said that as I have a carl trimmer the same style, love it, but they don't produce them now and I've tried a few alternative brands which aren't quite true, so I'll look out for Firbon. Thanks Margo, and Tracy for the original question.
Fiskars do a small guillotine that cuts paper approx 6”. Mine is a Hobbycraft one of similar style but they don’t make them anymore. Personally I prefer a guillotine ad it save on constantly buying blades, which isn’t necessary on a guillotine. I use a large Xcut one for scrapbooking and it it perfect. My trimmer (Stampin Up) cuts straight lines but I’m always having to buy new blades so I only use that for crops.
I use the Smaller Tonic ( Tim Holtz) guillotine all the time - I have the larger one for scrapbooking too- love them
