Someone mentioned placecards for the bottom of glass stems, so I thought I would attempt it now as its on DIL's to do list
It needs to be taken off the CS gently but once its off and weeded its pretty sturdy.

Lucille,
Is this what your talking about in the way of an attached coaster made like
an aperature?
All you have to do is say aperature - and I'm off and designing. I love doing
them!!!
I never mind you using my pictures - that is the best compliment!
Can someone tell me why my "quotes" don't appear like eveyone elses?

I've just had another idea I hope Petrina doesn't mind, why not do coasters that could be personalised as well, especially if they are attached to the glass in some way, here I go ideas popping. Something like those lattice appertures we had recently that have a hole in the middle would look nice.
I've found a photo of one, I'm sure Linda won't mind me borrowing her photo. Couldn't you do something like this that would fit over the base of a glass, weld it to a frame so it would stay in one piece, instead of using to cut an aperture???
While I was making this it got me thinking and I asked my husband if he wanted to repeat our vows next year on our 35th wedding anniversary.
His reply a blah okay with his eyes still glued to the t.v. - how romantic!!!!!
Thank you to everyone for the fabulous designs so far, and to Petrina for setting such an original challenge. :thanks:
Lucille, your suggestion inspired me, and I have tried to design a decorative glass base with a built in coaster. Now my DH will have no excuse for forgetting to use his!
Hope it might be useful. :comp:
