I know I am going to sound dumb but what is SU UK please
Sorry its Stampin up! a USA based home party stamp/scrap thing, beautiful stuff! Its finanally come to the UK :) or coming anyway
sounds really exciting and pretty reasonable

Caz- what sort of stash are included in the demo kit? Only asking as you have SU USA friends.
ignore me- just seen a picture:)
Oh, I can't find the website, can someone point me in the right direction please. I need at least two coffees before my brain cells kick in in the mornings!
The link is on Caz's blog, (not sure if we are allowed to link here!)
I've got the main site, it's the UK site that is hiding from me.
Go to the top left and it says global SU - then click on the Union Jack when you get to the global page

Duh! Found it LOL!
It seems to be an almost £/$ exchange - the year after year stamps are showing at £29.95 and are $30 dollars in the US catalogue.
I was bummed about that, but I will still do it. Exchange rates can change, postage is high on international and customs could get you so some people will order. Its the whole experience as well of going to the demo, being shown ideas ect. Some people just cant be bothered with ordering from US as well so I am sure it will still work... End of the day compair the indiviual prices against UK stamps its still a winner :)
Caz
I really fancy this! But have no idea whether or not I'll be able to drum up enough people to make it worthwhile!
I won't be signing up as a demo, but will definitely be on the lookout for someone to buy from so anyone planning on signing up in the West Sussex area keep me in mind!!
The territories are not geographic specific so you can sign up anyone from anywhere - obviously if you want more local support go local but if that doesn't bother you too much you can choose who you will downline from. HTH
Should also say my understanding is that you order direct as a demo and it is delivered direct to you so its not an issue to not have a local upliner in terms of where goods are delivered.
Rachel
One of my friends is signing up and she wants me to help her with creating samples so I'm really happy.
Thats correct,, it depends who you want to sign under, although if its a localish person you could attend any events they might plan other than the parties they attend. offically as an UPLINE your demo doesnt really have to do anything to look after there upline, although I think its in everyones interested to help each other :)
Caz
So, for the first people who sign up, who will their upline be?
I would imagine nobody!!!! lol
Well if I do sign up, I am well chuffed cause i already have Mixed Bouquet, so I can straight away swap that for another set, how funny that it is one of the sets that is retired from the US this year!!!! lol
Does anybody know if we could swap out the Stampin Pastels and put in some watercolour crayons?
Okay, ignore that, just read the rest of the blinking form!!!!!!! Thats a pain, hate using pastels, already got the jumbo wheel, versamark pad, seems like such a waste when we could have ordered something else to use, never mind
I've emailed them to ask when the catalogue will be available to view, so that we can swap out the "swappable" items.
Right, like Caz mentioned about the sets, I am prob going to wait until I can see the cattie online before signing as I am most definitely going to swap some out!!!
I should think their "woman just outside London" will be the key point of contact for the first ones to sign up. It doesn't bother me too much as I am used to taking a bit of responsibility and such like through work so feel happy to help others out with interpretation of regulations and such and spreading the word and so on. I think it all depends on your levels of managing people confidence really.
I know others that do party plan elsewhere and often have two of the key items anyway because it is easier to keep your party stuff in a crate rather than wondering around your craft room so you are pretty much ready to go all the time - I operate two versamark pads anyway one clean and one dirty - ie for embossing and such like rather than just watermarking.
Talking to a NZ person who just started with it she said the most popular items to start with for her have been colouring things and ink pads and the two step stamps.

We would be signing directly under the company. I asked this question myself. I asked that coz I was wondering about whether to sign right up or sign under someone. They said that it was entirely up to me. She said as an upline you are not obligated to do any more than just sign a person up and help them start but I believe it would be nice to do just more than that. I dont even know what perks I get from having a downline! LOL Just thought it sounded fun and it would be fun for all the demos and the people you have signed up to get together too, sharing hints and tips:)
Caz
Oh and they also said there will be support for us by way of phones, internet ect ect so us newbies wont be left hanging. I know in the US they get a monhtly email magazine for demos, its fab! I have been secretly getting it for about a year, just dreaming about the day! Now I really need to go and read them :) LOL and learn something!
i expect it will be all repeated in our ones!! LOL I will be like, I am sure I have read this somewhere. :)
All I can think about is this. I got my mum to print all the forms out so I can have it ready. I have emailed the contact 3 times already! I actually just tried to call her, I was just going to say welcome and do you know what you have let yourself in for with a zillion and one questions LOL but her answer mesage was in German!
OMG your keen! ( as if I did not knwo that)
Real shame the prices are higher than we expected/wished for but still loads I want. How many time do you think I will print this off before sending it?
thats almost 4 weeks we have to thumb over the kit order form etc.
I will look later to see what the aternatives are.
4 weeks OMG all my babies arrive at the same time as SU , I will be running around like a headless chicken.
LOL but a happy one :)
we can't really look at alternatives yet surely until our UK cattie comes out, cause firstly we might be getting more retired sets from the US, Mixed Bouquet retired in the States this year!!!!! Ooooh November has never looked so far away, SU, Nellie!!!!!
I have been and had a look I would like to sign up but am a little worried that I will get enough business:)
Trudy I'm the same!
There's no way I would realistically pay £30 for a stamp set - no matter how fabby and fantastic it was.
I think you have to break it down into the per stamp value - if you think some of the stamps we purchase now have an average price of between £6 and £10 that means the sets which have 6 or so stamps at around the £30 mark are actually reasonable - its just the shock of shelling it out all at once - lol
