Looks good and would really like to do this. Unfortunately I really am going back to school to work after a year on maternity leave and not sure I could fit it in...will have to have a think about it...
Thanks for the link!
Just taken a look at this and it looks really good - the only thing that would worry me would be - would I have enough time to do this every day!! Also do you need lots to do it?
I wish I could afford it ... have signed onto the blog tho in the vain hope that my name will be whisked out of a jar !!!
Have a great class tho !
Not something I'd pay $15 for! Would rather spend my cash on stash  There's tons of stuff online to get ideas from for free!
I signed up last night! Have been looking for a nudge to turn my sketchbook into a journal for ages - and I have a lot coming up in September to write about... :D ;)
Will be using an A5 sketchbook rather than 6x6, though. I'm determined not to have to buy anything for it! ;)
I've taken classes from Shimelle in person and I know how inspiring she is but I've signed up for so many BigPicture classes that I've never had the time or been inspired to do that I'm a bit wary now ;) How easy are her online classes to keep up with ? And am I really going to want to do this one ??!! :D (I'm just waiting to be convinced as I do want to do it really..... :D)
Thanks for that, I've just joined up!
I love Shimelle's classes so I've signed up again. They are not hard to follow and you can download them and do them later if you need to. She kind of specialises in getting you to use the stash you have rather than buy things specially. The $15 worked out at about £8.50 so I didn't think it was expensive. She's the first person to get me to try thinking outside the box.:D
I would say that it is $15 dollars well spent. 30 classes with loads of ideas, chances to work with big names from the US and learn from them as well and an opportunity to do something really "different". We are talking £8!Quote:

Shimelle is one of the "big names". CKU instructor and works all over USA and Europe.
You don't need to do it every day as you can download the classes and do them in your own time. (I took ages to finish the first one I did.)
More importantly this is not a "stash-hungry"class. You can use your supplies if you wish and Shimelle encourages diversity and "out of the box" thinking in her classes.
(By the way, I am not on commission but felt sad to hear such a top-level designer written off:()
I have taken Shim's classes before, and have throughly enjoyed all of them. I haven't kept up with them all, but I have found her prompts to be extremely inspiring - very realistic in terms of what you can manage in a small amount of time, and really good value for money.
This is going to be my first time. I'm really, really looking forward to it. I don't think even fifteen POUNDS for the one month would have been too much - it would only be 50p a day! As it is it works out at just under 30p a day. My newspapers cost more than that. and I expect you can use the prompts and ideas over again. Good if you need knocking out of a groove...
If it's 30 classes it is very good value for money I thought it was for one class. I'm not knocking it I think it's great I was just saying there's already lots of scrapbookers/designers online that share their ideas for free too :)
I dont think it is sharing ideas thing... it is classes with prompts !!! I signed up a while back for it.. Never seen one of hers before but thought $15 was not bad if it is going to get me scrapping!!!
:) :) Oh yes, I agree about free stuff being around - especially on here. Just sometimes one has to admit one needs a gentle kick up the rear to get going with something... An email everyday and a group discussion will at least help stop me from (ahem) 'forgetting' what I wanted to do... :lol:Quote:

Hi,
Not something I would pay for either.........got plenty of ideas, not enough time. Been to one of her classes!

I've been to lots of Shimelle's classes, and hopefully will get to lots more. One of my all time favorite scrapbooking teachers - this is the girl who taught me how to tear paper correctly!
It maybe that I don't learn anything new, technique wise, but hopefully it will provide a little motivation to actually get some scrapping done again. At the moment I have loads of desire to scrapbook but I never actually seem to get off my bum and do any. I am hoping that one tiny page a day will get me moving again.
Sally thanks for the thread......I have just signed up. I love Shimelles classes
I've signed up for this too!
I've never done one of Shimelle's classes before but I'm looking forward to it. I love her work, and if this class gets me to scrap a little every day, and to try new things them I'll be happy! :)
Bit shocked at such a rude comment on this forum. You are perfectly entitled to your opinion but perhaps it is best expressed privately IMHO. :)Quote:

Please play nicely . :) :)
Thanks for the link. Never done anything like this before, I have not bothered with previous classes that seemed more arty journals, but this seems a good mix of scrapbook and journal. hopefully it WILL teach me new ways of looking at things, prompt me to do something useful in my scrapping each day AND use up some of this stash mountain I'm sinking into this end!
Well even though I am going to be extremely busy in September for some strange reason!!! I think I am going to sign up and try and do something each day although it will probably take me till end of October or Nov to finish!! I have wanted to do one of Shimilles classes for ages and I think I will need a release in September so its ideal timing. also great preparation for the Christmas one that I will DEF do this year after dithering for the last 2 years :)
I have just signed up for this I dont think its possible to have too much inspiration, its was £8.16 if anyones interested looks fun.
I've just signed up:) I've done Shimelle's christmas one the first time round, and I loved it! I'm going to miss the first couple of days because I'll be in Disneyland Paris, but I'm sure I'll catch up:D
I love the look of the 'sneaky peek' LOs, so am seriously considering this.... but think I'll be one who saves off all the details and then takes months to complete them
I'm dithering. Never done an online course before apart from the cybercrops on here that is. For those who have signed up does she provide a stash list or do you just go with what you have lurking about?
I'd love to do it but September is not a good month for me :( Won't be home from Aug 31-Sep 5 to begin with and have other activities the rest of the month, plus I just finished a 56 page album that has to be done by wednesday, so I'd like to take it easy and do stuff 'just for myself' for a while. It sounds really nice though... would have been nice for another month.
I've just signed up, September shouldn't be too bad for me, glad it wasn't in October though!
I knew I would find something good to do with my heidi swapp album as well!!
Chris K - I'm just signed up and was e-mailed a link to a list of mainly general supplies that you will be using. However, Shimelle suggested that substitutions from your own stash could easily be made.
Can't wait!

Does anyone know if you'll be able to access this at any time (eg how long will each class be available for?) only I could be persuaded to give it a try if you don't have to necessarily join in every day.
it is sent via email (or at least the previous clasess have been), so you can save them to do when ever you have time.
ok, I can't open the first download on my pc...... will the classes be sent in the same format? If yes, I'm b*ggered!
I did one of shimelles online classes, and it was brilliant. She is really helpful, nothing is too much trouble for her.i did the 3 journals in 3 weeks it was fantastic, and very inspiring.I have signed up for this one too and cannot wait. You don`t know what you are missing girls:)
it's a pdf file, do you have adobe installed?Quote:

Taking the plunge and going to sign up - looks too good to miss!
Thanks so much for posting about this!
I've signed up and am really looking forward to it, I'm going to try really hard to do it every day as a way of keeping me sane because September is always one of the most stressful months for me at school. I've got loads of other scrapping to do but think this is well worth the time and money if it makes me look at things in a different way. :) I love Shimelle's work so it will be great to learn from her :)
I have signed up for this. I have TONS of stash and no ideas, so it's good value for me.
I have signed up and looking forward to doing this, hoping to get a kick or 2 of motivation - lol
