I got my May copy this morning!! Isn't it early - can't remember when it's due in the shops. It looks good but have only had a peek so far.
I received mine too! I thought exactly the same:) I subscribe to CK too but I haven't had it this month and it normally arrives before the SI. But a pleasant surprise. I had a mini peek and look forward to a cuppa and read later.
Havent got mine but dont mind waiting ...more annoyed at still not receiving my free gift for subbing :( had three letters all saying it will be with me soon...and still nothing.
Well rant over :D
Kate, when I subbed (three times) since its launch the gift took a while to come. I imagine the gifts are from a different suppliers. I would let them know every now and again you are still waiting on the gift. I has been known that a popular gift has been "sold out" and replaced by a substitute of the same value (that can work out well or be a let down as we all have different tastes) as they have reserved the right to do. Hope it arrives soon.
Linda, it took me ages to decide if i should sub, I can understand if demand is high but to run out three times and still not have covered all new subs seems a litle strange.
Still im looking forward to getting it :D
No Kate you misunderstand. I have since its launch(about 3 years or more) subbed and re subbed. I have waited a while for the gift but it has always arrived and the right gift not replaced with another gift.
I have read many threads on UKS and a few girls wanting a certain gift and going for the subs to have them replaced (normally due to a huge popularity of the gift) some of the girls liked the replaced gift and some sent them back and cancelled.
The vast majority get their chosen gift and have not had to wait more that a couple of months. But as I say keep in touch with them.
I love the SI mag., and look forward to it every month.
could anyone tell me what the subscription gift is this time please?
I thought it could be different from what was actually pictured but thought it maybe diferent colour or similar item from another supplier....do you think it cold be something completely different then?
The free gift when i ordered was basic grey papers and tote.
mines not here either but i did a house move on the address so god knows when it will ever come lol
Mag looks really good this month, just had a chance to skim read. BUT where is Vanessa Matthews work gone? :( She is still listed on the design team page but there hasn't been anything from her for a few months. Its a shame as I love her work.
WRT free gifts when I subbed the gift was an Amy Butler scrapkit. They sold out and I actually recieved something totally different that wasn't to my taste at all ( a cutter and some chalks as I remember) so they can change it completely. Was livid and phoned to make complaint but they said they were within their rights. Should have cancelled and sent it back but I was just too lazy
see how much faith i have my copy just arrived through my 'new door' lol
Fairly sure the last SI said that the next issue was due out May 1st- so you subbies are getting a weeks start over the rest of us!
Mine came this morning too, lovely surprise as it doesn't normally come until the Tuesday of the week it's due out in the shops, which is Friday May 1st for this issue.
Diane 39 - the subs gift this month is a Doodlebug Butterfly Kit....quote...
"The kit comes complete with all the materials you need to create a beautiful hanging butterfly decoration for your home"..unquote. !!!
oh excellent, is there a code and a phone number please?
Got mine early too. It's quite thin this month, but some nice los in there.
Mine's here too. Love the bit about interactive pages as I've been doing quite a few of those lately.
Count your blessings subscribers! I have to wait a whole working week before I can get my hands on the new issue. I ended up buying another scrapbook magazine this morning and am seriously disappointed in myself that yet again I've bought it, knowing that I'll probably only find 10 minutes worth of reading.
mine came today too - yay! That said I've had no time to sit down with it - yet!!!!!!
Bernie x
Got mine too. Haven't had chance to read it yet! Been out helping Dad all day and now hubby is in the kitchen chatting with one of his friends and they've been in there for hours. I've been banished to the room with the dog. And guess where I left my SI mag? In the kitchen. I cannot let go of the dog though. Or hubbies friend will be mincemeat. Lol.
I haven't got mine yet. What are the themes for the Reader's Gallery and the deadline please?
Doh!
Rosie and I had worked out adding the video and PDF of instructions for my paper bag book tomorrow then all the subs came out early and what it says in the mag about the PDF being available to not yet correct!
OK, so let me preface this by saying that it isn't a video so much as a slide show - Maddie had been playing with the camera and accidentally set it to MACRO mode, which I didn't realize till I had already sent the book off to the mag for photography. By the time I uploaded it to edit (very fuzzy!) it was too late to do anything else. She took the camera with her over Easter on her pilgrimage to Lourdes :)
So here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3OsQcAM_jM
You can pause it to see the steps at your own pace, and the PDF will be at the link on the SI blog from tomorrow so if anyone is interested in re-creating it you should have all you need. Do click the "more info" bit in the description, which has the link to the blog as well as a link to the page at Martha Stewart's site where you can download the fan chart if you want it.
I am happy to answer any questions if you have them but I hope it is pretty clear.
I have made two or three "different" PBBs recently and am loving re-discovering and updating this old technique. If any sponsors still sell PBs, do post here to let people know in case anyone wants some.
Fair warning - there is music, although it SHOULD be pretty soft - still, you may want to make sure your sound is not up too high if you really, REALLY hate bluegrass music (although it is more mellow, waltz-y bluegrass, and my FIL's band) :D
There's 98 pages which is exactly the same as for each issue over the last 6 months. There's still the same amount of adverts pages at the back ...just 4 so the contents isn't actually " thinner" IYKWIM. I didn't think it was any thinner to be honest, just like it always is ! There's 12 pages in the readers gallery this month against 10 last month.
Thanks for the info Gwyneth.:thanks:
Thanks from me too :thanks:
Can anyone tell me what themes the readers gallery are this month? I have to wait until Friday to get mine and I am hoping that my first ever published LO is in this month - is fathers a theme?
I have paper bags here
And we have some here sold in 10's:)
Hiya,
We have packs of 9 paper bags for 50p at www.totalpapercrafts.co.uk
Karen :)
Thanks Seffie, I might have to wait another month then - if its in at all! I was warned that sometimes they have to drop some if there are too many. I've got my fingers crossed
Has anyone had an issue with the other UK scrapbook mag . I signed up in Oct to sub and did not get a copy till March and still no gift
Oh good, I'll look out for it Seffie
Sorry - not sure what the delay is, but I've gotten a few emails/PMs about the PDF not being at the link.
Rather than send it to all who asked, I'll post it here - this is a compressed version (to fit the UKS posting rules for PDFs) but the SI should be a full quality version so if you have problems with this, try if from there once it appears.
We also have some paper bags here.......... :)
My DD is in there this month on Rosemary Merry's DLO! :)
